About My Condominium Law Practice

At my practice, I provide specialised legal services for condominium corporations, addressing common challenges in the development like residential tenancy law, financing, and maintenance of condos in Toronto. I am committed to advocating for the unique needs of my clients.

Common Expense Lien I represent both condominium corporations and boards in situations where unit owners’ common fees are overdue. In a city like Toronto, with its abundant condominiums, disputes over late condo lien fees and special assessments are frequent. With my experience and success in condominium law, clients can navigate these legal challenges confidently and effectively.

Construction & Development Issues I handle legal matters related to construction delays, deficiencies, and financial disputes. My extensive experience in representing condominium boards helps clients seek justice throughout all stages of condo construction. Effective mediation and legal representation are essential when dealing with misrepresentations by developers and construction companies.

Applications, By-law & Regulatory Disputes I possess deep expertise in by-laws and city regulations, which is crucial for smooth application processes for condominium boards. Specialising in these areas saves valuable time, allowing clients to focus more on development and less on bureaucratic hurdles.

I have a broad range of experience in mediating and representing various facets of condominium law. I serve clients across the Greater Toronto Area, including Mississauga, Brampton, Milton, Vaughan, Richmond Hill, Markham, Newmarket, Etobicoke, North York, Thornhill, Burlington, Barrie, Scarborough, and Oakville. What is the Minimum notice a Landlord can give a Tenant?

The minimum notice a landlord can give a tenant depends on location and reason for eviction, but it’s usually 30–60 days for ending a tenancy without cause and 7–14 days for non-payment or lease violations. Always check your local tenancy laws for the exact requirement.

What is the new Tenant Law in Ontario?

In Ontario, the minimum notice a landlord must give in 2025  and onwards is 90 days in writing for a rent increase, using the proper form. Under Bill 163 (Relief for Renters Act, 2024), there’s also a rent freeze for 2025 with some exceptions, and landlords are restricted from ending tenancies under certain sections during this period.

What is the Residential Tenancy Law in Ontario?

The Residential Tenancies Act (RTA) is Ontario’s main law regulating landlord–tenant relationships. It covers rules on rent increases (capped at 2.5% for 2025), eviction procedures, deposits, and pet policies, while excluding certain housing types like most student residences. Tenants can learn about their rights on Ontario.ca, and disputes are resolved through the Landlord and Tenant Board (LTB).
